Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non denominational organization dedicated to providing food relief to communities throughout the USA. Anyone can participate in purchasing units of food. There is no qualification process or income requirement. Angel Food is for everyone.
Angel Food is available in a quantity that can fit into a medium-sized box at $30 per unit. Each month's menu is different than the previous month and consists of both fresh and frozen items with an average retail value of approximately $60.
Generally, one unit of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single senior citizen for almost a month. The food is all the same quality one could purchase at a grocery store. There are no second-hand items, no damaged or out-dated goods, no dented cans without labels, no day-old breads and no produce that is almost too ripe.
Also offered are specialty boxes such as steaks, chicken and pork. Many participants in this bonus program appreciate the expanded choices.
Additionally, there is no limit to the number of units or bonus foods an individual can receive, and there are no applications to complete or qualifications to which participants must adhere. Angel Food Ministries also participates in the U.S. Food Stamp program, using the Off-Line Food Stamp Voucher system. It's both a Bargain and a Blessing!
Place your order with payment through the church office (740) 654-0099 or on-line during the first part of each month before the pre-designated published deadline. These orders are then turned in to the Angel Food main office in Monroe, Georgia. Pick up your order in the Family Life Center at Entrance G on distribution day (usually the morning of the last Saturday of the month). Watch for exact times and details on the FCC website, church bulletins, and other publications.
Fairfield Christian Church is now a Community Access Site
Located throughout the United States in 38 states and 4500 locations, Community Access Sites are committed to offering long-term access to food relief and other community resources. As a CAS, we help connect Americans to the services and support that they need to thrive while reaching out in the love of Christ. The ministry is done by volunteers who help model the approach of neighbor helping neighbor. Please look for the new CAS table during distribution Saturday!
This program needs volunteers from all congregations to help on distribution Saturdays. This will require a few hours one Saturday morning per month. If you would like to get involved, please contact Julie Smeltzer or call (740) 654-0099, ext. 267.
What is Angel Food Ministries?
Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non denominational organization dedicated to providing food relief to communities throughout the USA.
Who is the ministry for?
Anyone can participate in purchasing units of food. There is no qualification process or income requirement. Angel Food is for everyone.
What is the cost of the food?
A box of Angel Food can be purchased for $30.00. Additional items called “Specials” may also be purchased. Specials range in price from $16.00 to $20.00.
If I order, will it take away from someone who “really needs it?”
No! People pay for the food and Angel Food Ministries purchases the food at cost.
Will I know what the food offered is in advance?
Angel Food Ministries produces a menu that is available a full month in advance. Each menu is balanced, healthy, and well-planned. Menus change monthly and will include frozen foods, meat, vegetables, fruit, and a dessert item.
How much food may I purchase?
There is no limit on the number of boxes an individual or family may purchase. Angel Food Ministries also offers the purchase of one or more “Special Units” when buying a regular box of food. The “Specials” vary month to month, and offer savings on beef, chicken, and fresh fruit and vegetables.
How do I place an order?
Orders are collected through Fairfield Christian Church, or on-line during, the first part of each month. Payment must accompany each order. Cash, money orders, debit cards, personal checks and FOOD STAMPS are acceptable forms of payment. Dates change each month so please watch for exact times and details on the FCC website, church bulletins, and other publications.
Where do I pick up my order?
Pick up your order at Fairfield Christian Church in the Family Life Center, Entrance G on distribution day from 9:30-11:00am.
What if I change my mind or forget to pick up my box of food?
Sorry, there are no refunds. All boxes must be paid for in advance so we are unable to provide a refund for food that has been delivered to us. Due to storage limitations, we are unable to save boxes of food for those who forget. Any unclaimed boxes will be donated, as the food will spoil.
Can I purchase a box as a donation for someone else?
Yes! Angel Food Ministries provides and excellent opportunity for you to reach out to those in need.
Please email Julie Smeltzer for more information or call (740)654-0099 ext 267.
