Prayer Concerns
1/18/2010: Gretchen DeVoe (Lifeline Administrator & Co-founder) sends this urgent prayer request from Haiti.
1. We need diesel fuel and at this point have no idea when or where it will come from. We began rationing diesel today but when it’s gone we won’t be able to pump water or have electricity for the clinic. This also means no electricity for internet connections to contact our staff back in the US. Anyone who has connections to getting diesel through the UN, USAID, etc. etc. please let our staff know at the US office: 614-794-0108 or Ben@Lifeline.org.
Answered: Lesly just returned from Petit Goave where we were able to purchase 2 drums of diesel this will last 2 days. We go through 55 gallons a day.
2. The seriously critical patients we have in clinic have no way of being “lifted” out to a full hospital. We have a young girl right now in clinic with bowel/intestinal injuries. She is losing blood and needs major surgery in a hospital and we can’t seem to get any way to get her there. I think our Navy men are loaded down and can’t lift any more patients. This is frustrating for our doctors here.
1/16/2010: From a MAF Staff, in regards to Haiti;
- Pray for the four men who have stayed behind, and for John Woodberry.
- Pray for the families being evacuated.
- Pray for kids who have seen things in the last two days that no kid should ever have to see.
- Pray for the moms and kids who are separated from dad.
- Pray for the staff who did nothing wrong in evacuating with their families, but feel guilty anyway.
- Pray for our national staff. Several may have lost family or close friends, or may not know what has happened to them. They are dealing with medical issues, shelter, and finding food and water.
- Pray for MAF leadership as they make crucial decisions about action and response in the coming days and weeks.
- Pray for John Woodberry, that he will be able to clearly see, assess, and communicate the situation and needs.
1/14/2010: Rana and Simie Samual missionaries with Passion Ministries to India have asked for prayer against spiritual warfare that is being experienced since their return to India.
1/12/2010: Pray for Haiti, relief, finding survivors, Lifeline’s Ladies mission team safety, volunteer teams and fresh water.
